Position
Summary:
Responsible for the processing payroll and associated reporting, completion of month end reporting from journal entries through to the financial statements.
Provide various monthly reports, assist Accounting Manager with day to day operation of department as well as special projects when required.
Performance Expectations:
Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility's geographic location and Global Operating System Plays.
TS 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards.
Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar's Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar's Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements.
Ability to analyze balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
Prepare all journal entries with complete back up in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure all Corporate deadlines are met regarding tax entry and sales matrix.
Prepare month end reconciliations in a timely manner.
Ensure GL coding is accurate.
Analyze and prepare monthly accruals.
Prepare all fixed asset schedules for year-end audit.
Responsible for reporting any and all payroll information necessary to complete annual audits, i.
e.
401K, workers compensation insurance, and employment verifications.
Responsible for monitoring and reviewing the quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
Prepare reports for Corporate for Tax purposes - as requested.
Based on payroll, or sales by state etc.
Prepare and process a bi-weekly payroll for all of US Skyjack employees.
At year end - calculate GTL, Insurance cost, HSA ER Contributions for W-2 reporting, load Holiday calendar, pay invoices (T&A) through ADP each month, make sure that ADP has our annual limits for Fidelity Gross wages and match amounts, review the quarterly reports (from ADP) and reconcile 941 with Wage report each quarter, GL mapping needs to be updated.
Prepare accruals for SFS and Sales & Service monthly.
This includes SS Bonus accrual and Wages accruals.
Also reporting the vacation balances for SFS.
Register new hires in new states.
Check in with corporate tax to see if they are currently registered already for other taxes, so that we don't duplicate.
Maintain online accounts with various states to review and report our tax status - for either withholding or SUTA.
Work with Vanguard Record retention.
Maintain a working with the web-sites, account numbers, user Id's and passwords etc.
for the States where we have employees or pay taxes.
401k Fidelity Audits - supply necessary reports for the Audit as requested.
Make sure that Accrued vacation is trued up and updated for the calendar year may need help from Corporate office for the CAD employees - to calculate their annual amount.
Perform other tasks/duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements A degree in accounting is preferred.
Desired Characteristics Minimum four to six years of experience in accounting or in a related area.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practice, and procedures.
Ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
May lead and direct the work of others.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
