Position is responsible for repairing and installing production/manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer s specifications. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs or adjustments as needed. Perform typical maintenance tasks to support operations and plant functions. This position requires frequent lifting, climbing, and standing, crouching, bending and kneeling.

Essential Functions:

  • The general maintenance mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving equipment malfunctions which include electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, variable frequency drives and various pumps and valves.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment. Reference machine operation and maintenance manuals to perform scheduled and unscheduled periodic maintenance.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists team members in solving maintenance problems.
  • Repair all production equipment as needed and fabricate repair parts by using shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels, placing and expediting orders and verifying receipt.
  • Work with outside contractors working on assigned tasks.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. In addition, follows safety rules and regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement efforts to reduce downtime and improve efficiencies.
  • Provide adequate training for employees on proper equipment usage.
  • Provide for adequate facility maintenance repairs including utilities.
  • Responsible for requesting adequate material and supplies for the maintenance function.
  • Work independently under limited supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
