Director of Operations - Nursery

Description As the Director of Operations you need a unique blend of horticulture and business skills. You will manage every aspect of operations, production, logistics, personnel, and financial at multiple locations to meet aggressive business goals.    Operations: You must achieve revenue growth, profitability and customer satisfaction. Demonstrate proficient knowledge and applied expertise managing horticulture operations at multiple locations to increase profitable sales with accurate forecasts, increased propagation, production planning, reduced waste, consistent growing processes ensuring the finished plants are available as forecasted and as needed. Create and execute strategic and tactical plans to meet or exceed aggressive revenue and profit goals effectively utilizing best practices in technology, performance metrics, schedules, labor, equipment, seasonality, inventory, resources, assets and processes to maximize propagation, production, plant health, product offerings, logistics efficiencies and to eliminate any challenges. Establish processes well-grounded in science and best practices for propagation, planting, growing, harvesting, grading, storage, finishing and shipment to increase efficiencies, reduce waste and increase profits that can be implemented consistently at each location. Regular site visits to analyze crops, identify problems and suggest corrective actions. Prepare accurate forecasts, schedules and meaningful reports with explanations and suggested corrective actions. Collaborate with internal departments including sales to adapt production to ensure the finished plants are available as needed. Create a well-maintained, safe environment that complies with corporate safety practices and industry standards.   Financial and Back Office Management: Business acumen must include working and practical knowledge of all financial aspects. Develop and manage all budgets, margins, P&L, labor, materials, inventory, costs, forecasts and capital expenditure.   Leadership: Share your passion and expertise for horticulture, operations, cost controls, profitability and customer service by leading and developing each direct report to maximize their contribution.  Demonstrate, communicate and promote professionalism, expertise, customer service, best practices, accountability, ethics, results, profitability, corporate goals, and the value of a workforce. Conduct periodic meetings and performance reviews along with prompt resolution of workplace issues. Train and educate company employees to achieve high performance and best practices. Collaborate with internal departments sharing information and resources.   Required Education and/or Experience for Success A minimum of five (5) yearsexperience managing and growing a horticulture operation with a track record of success in increasing revenue and profitability through effective operations and leadership. A degree from a four year university in a related field preferred.
Salary Range: $130K - $160K
Minimum Qualification
5 - 7 years

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
